BACOLOD City – Jail guards at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental arrested a visitor who allegedly tried to sneak in suspected shabu into the detention facility.
The 28-year-old Romela “Totay” Sobrino of JM Basa Street, Barangay 1, La Carlota City yielded a plastic pack of suspected shabu stuffed in an almost empty ointment bottle, police said.
Sobrino was a live-in partner of an inmate. She was turned over to the police. Officers have not identified the inmate.
The seizure was made around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The suspected prohibited drug was among the assorted breads contained in a white plastic bag that Sobrino was carrying, said the police.
Jail Officer 3 Marvin B. Valencia and Jail Officer 1 Mary Grace D. Rosales found the item upon inspection of the plastic bag./PN
