AFTER focusing on his music, actor-singer James Reid is now ready to go back to acting.
In an interview with Reid during the 7th Entertainment Editors Award, Reid shared a glimpse on what to expect from him aside from producing music from his label Careless.
“I always say that I am planning to go back to acting after I explore music and I have a new EP (extended play) so I was excited. And yeah there will be a movie project and new projects coming,” he said in an interview.
According to Reid, during his hiatus from acting, he discovered and explored his musicality as he produced numerous singles for his company.
“I really wanted to take a pause and discover myself through music and for the past couple of years I just really focused on composing music to figure out what I really wanted. And I think I am very happy where I am right now and excited to take what’s next,” he said.
Aside from focusing on his music, Red also enjoys his new venture managing talents including actress Liza Soberano who is now exploring her career overseas.
“It’s great. I’ve mentioned before, Liza knows exactly what she wants and I’m just supporting her and backing her up. Right now she’s in LA auditioning and taking more projects so I am very proud of her,” Reid said.
As a talent manager to Soberano, who is exploring an international acting career, Reid was also asked if he had ever thought of exploring the international scene
“That never really you know (crossed my mind). I feel like for me, I wanted to create music from the Philippines where I am reaching out. Everyone has a different dream and I wouldn’t say Liza left Philippine show business. She’s doing good and I am very proud that she’s able to push Filipinos internationally,” he said.
And now that he’s also ready to accept acting projects, Reid is also open to do an acting comeback with Soberano.
“I think there’s a big possibility and that could happen,” he said. (ABS-CBN News)
