Jamindan town folks avail free government services

ROXAS CITY – The caravan of government services dubbed as “Serbisyong MAKatao” officially kicked off its delivery of various social services for town residents, especially those in Geographically Isolated and Displaced Areas.

The local government unit (LGU) of Jamindan town in this province provided free dental, medical, circumcision, massage, manicure, pedicure, haircut, legal aid, dog immunization, tricycle franchising, issuance of clearances, and live birth registration to the residents of Barangay Agbun-od on March 5. The villagers also received medicines and vegetable seeds, among others.


“The delivery of LGU services to the barangays is a testament that our governance is for the people as we will bring and sustain these particularly to those in need,” Jamindan mayor Mac Artur Valdemar said during the launching of the services.

He also led the ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly constructed road in the village which connects its barangay hall, gymnasium, school, day care center and other facilities. The project was funded by the LGU.

During the caravan also, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office disseminated information about children in conflict with the Law, violence against women and children cases, along with the information education and communication materials on how to avail the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) from the municipal government.

The Persons with Disabilities and senior citizens, meanwhile, were offered renewal of identification cards and new membership applications, while the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office distributed hotline numbers as contact references during emergencies.

The Rural Health Unit and the Provincial Health Office were the ones who provided 119 medical consultations, 67 laboratory examinations, 24 surgical circumcisions, and 150 dental services during the event.
One hundred fifty pupils were gifted free toothbrush and towels, 55 villagers received free haircut, while manicure and pedicure services were provided to 42 and 40 residents, respectively.

According to Mayor Valdemar, the Serbisyong MAKatao is branding for governance designed to bring services to the people.(With a report from PIA/PN)
