JANELLA Salvador expressed her gratitude to fans who defended her after she trended due to her “paos ako, kayo na lang” remark on “It’s Showtime” which led to her being called “rude” by others.

On X (formerly Twitter), without directly mentioning the incident, the singer-actress remarked that the last thing she would want to do was be “rude or disrespectful” to anyone and thanked the fans who explained on her behalf.

“Oh wow. I’ve been meaning to explain myself because the last thing I would ever want is to appear rude or disrespectful… and here I am being met with so much love and comfort upon opening this app. Thank you. It makes me happy to know that there are many people out there who know my heart and what I stand for. Hugs of gratitude (from behind),” she wrote.

Salvador made a guest appearance on “It’s Showtime” on April 2 to promote her movie “Under the Parallel Skies” with Thai actor Win Metawin. Co-host Kim Chiu asked the “Killer Bride” actress to do a “sample” of Salvador’s new song which she was also promoting along with her upcoming concert.

However, the singer-actress remarked that her voice was not in good condition and said, “Medyo paos ako today, kayo na lang. Next time, promise.” Chiu was seen slightly embarrassed after the exchange.

Vice Ganda seemingly threw a shade on Salvador after he repeated the statement on the show’s segment “EXpecially for You,” when a contestant also didn’t want to do a “sample.” Some netizens online said they did not appreciate the comedian-host’s gesture to put Salvador “in a bad light.” (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
