ACTRESS Janine Gutierrez admitted that Tom Rodriquez is one of the reasons why she is excited for her newest project, “Dragon Lady.”

Janine and Tom will banner the gripping fantasy series “Dragon Lady,” one of GMA-7’s upcoming Afternoon Prime offerings.

“Ever since palaging ko sinasabi na isa sya sa gusto kong makatrabaho sa GMA. I’m so happy talaga na kami ang magkasama rito and that is one of the reason why super na excite ako when they told about the ‘Dragon Lady,’” said Janine.

She described Tom as one of the “pinakamahusay na artista sa GMA.” Apart from this, she also said Tom is of the most handome actors in the industry.

Janine disclosed that she started fangirling on Tom when the latter starred “My Husband’s Lover.”

Umuuwi ako nang maaga noon para mapanood yun,” she added.

When asked if she has a crush on Tom, Janine laughed off and said “Hindi ako prepared sa showbiz questions…pero si Tom talaga isa sa pinakagwapo sa GMA…nahirapan talaga akong sagutin…”

The upcoming series “Dragon Lady” – deeply rooted on Chinese-Filipino culture, tradition and superstition – is set to air sometime in March.

Currently, the cast are preparing for their respective roles in these newest GMA project.

“GMA always seems try to challenge the mold like ‘My Husband’s Lover,’ they try to challenge when it comes to depiction of the LGBT community, not that the typical depictions. Ito naman it’s challenging the norms when it comes to culture and race,” said Tom.

Janine, meantime, reveals that this project will be her first time on the prosthetics chair, as the “Dragon Lady” role requires an impressive transformation. She is set to play a Filipino-Chinese heiress who has dragon-like features, and maybe even powers of fire.

Sobrang nakakaaliw kasi, ako mismo, fan ako manood ng mga costume transformations sa internet, ‘yung nakaupo sila sa makeup chair, ‘tapos naka-time lapse ‘yung paglagay ng prosthetics,” said the starlet. (GLENDA TAYONA/PN)
