ILOILO City – Two men were arrested for illegal gambling in Barangay Aquino Nobleza West, Janiuay, Iloilo.
The 41-year-old Bletran Luza of Barangay Guadalupe, Janiuay and 50-year-old Julius Castor of Barangay Damirez, Janiuay were caught collecting bets for the illegal numbers game bookies around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.
Recovered from their possession were bet money worth P2,537 and gambling paraphernalia.
Luza and Castor were detained in the lockup cell of the Janiuay police station.
They will be charged under Republic Act 9287, an act that increases penalties for illegal numbers games, amending certain provisions of Presidential Decree 1602./PN
