MANILA – Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido returned to their winning ways in the Japan B.League Division 1 via a 79-70 beating of Ibaraki Robots on Wednesday night at the Hokkai Kita-yale.

The Gilas Pilipinas forward finished with 12 points to go with four assists, two rebounds, two steals, and a block in 30 minutes of action as Hokkaido improved to 15-36 win-loss record.

Reid Travis led the way for Levanga with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, De’mon Brooks and Tsukasa Nakano had 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Darral Willis Jr. hauled 13 rebounds to go with four points.

Luke Maye top-scored for the Robots with 20 points to go with nine rebounds, while Hayato Yamaguchi contributed 11 markers as they dropped to 9-42 in the standings.

Meanwhile, Kai Sotto’s double-double effort was not enough as Yokohama B-Corsairs (22-29) suffered a lopsided 84-66 defeat to Shinshu Brave Warriors (7-44) at the Yokohama Buntai.

The 7-foot-3 Filipino center finished with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds to go with two blocks in 22 minutes of action, but did not get enough support from his teammates.

Rhon Jay Abarrientos was not rostered for the Brave Warriors in their rare victory, while Filipino-Japanese center Matthew Aquino was not fielded in the game despite the huge lead.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, on the other hand, pulled off a 98-95 overtime victory against defending champions Ryukyu Golden Kings at the Okinawa Arena.

The former TNT Tropang Giga guard contributed 13 points, including three three-point conversions, to go with four rebounds and one assist as the Diamond Dolphins moved up to 34-17.

But, it was Yutaro Suda who played the heroes role for the Diamond Dolphins as he converted a go-ahead three-pointer with six seconds left in the regulation to secure the victory./PN
