Jaro drug bust nets P102,000 worth of ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Approximately P102,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated from two drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lanit, Jaro district.

Police identified the suspects as Albert Jamandre, 44, and a resident of Barangay Jereos, La Paz district, and Michael Gatin, 42, of Barangay Bitoon, Jaro.

According to the Iloilo City Police Station 3 (ICPS3), the suspects were caught on Monday night, September 23, after they handed a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,600.

Police seized a total of 15 grams of suspected shabu.

Captain Melchor Tolentino, chief of ICPS3, said Gatin was previously jailed for illegal drugs charges.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of ICPS3, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
