ILOILO City – A high-value drug suspect was arrested on Thursday in Jaro district.
The 32-year-old Arnel Arbolado of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro, was taken to the Jaro police station at around 2:30 p.m. following a police buy-bust operation.
Arbolado was suspected to be once a trusted man of drug lord Richard Prevendido.
Prevendido died in a shootout with policemen in Barangay Balabago, Jaro in September 2017.
Operatives of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit led by Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca and Police Lieutenant Glen Soliman collared Arbolado.
They recovered 30 grams of shabu valued at P204,000.
Darroca said it took the police poseur buyer more than a week of negotiating until Arbolado agreed to deliver P45,000 worth of shabu.
Arbolado was an ex-convict. He served time at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila for a drug conviction in 2015.
“He was released last year and again engaged drug trafficking,” Darroca said./PN
