Jaro fires leaves P150-T damage

ILOILO City – Properties estimated to be worth P150,000 all went up in smoke after fire hit Barangay Sambag, Jaro district early morning on Tuesday.

Fire investigators said at least 10 houses were totally destroyed and four others were partially damaged.

According to Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the cause of the blaze, which started around 3:22 a.m., was possibly electrical in nature. BFP declared a “fire out” around 4: 58 a.m.

Village head Romeo Jagorin Jr., meanwhile, said a 74-year-old man died due to cardiac arrest.

He added that fire victims temporarily sought shelter at Creekside Baptist Church./PN
