JBLFMU Dolphins makes splash in ILOPRISAA 2019

ILOILO City – The John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) of the multi-awarded coach Ronald Sta. Ana once again ruled the pool in the just concluded Iloilo Private School Athletic Association Meet swimming competition held at Central Philippine University. 

The Tertiary Men’s Team swam their way to their 20-peat championship, amassing a whopping 30 golds, 10 silvers and eight bronze medals.

John Richard Sayon, a Grade 12 recruit from Silay City, crowned himself the most bemedalled swimmer by winning six golds and one silver medal. 

In the distaff side, the JBLFMU Tertiary Women also defended their 12th year crown with 24 golds, three silvers and seven bronze medals. Julie Mary Occeño, a 2nd Year BS Cruise Ship Management student and a prized recruit from Bacolod City, shared the most bemedalled swimmer with Adriana Yulo, a Grade 11 native of Barangay Baluarte, Molo, Iloilo City both garnering a perfect haul of seven gold medals each.

Meanwhile in the secondary division, JBLFMU also won the championship, dethroning Ateneo de Iloilo by winning eight golds, 10 silvers and six bronze medals. 

However, it was Martin Alphonse Bito-onon of Ateneo de Iloilo who won the most bemedalled swimmer with six golds and one silver. 

JBLFMU will banner the ILOPRISAA team for the upcoming Integrated Meet.

In secondary girls division, Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus (CSCJ) defended the crown by winning the championship.  It was however, Stefanny Louise Sa-ac of the Ateneo de Iloilo who was crowned as the most bemedalled swimmer winning five golds, one silver and a bronze.

In elementary boys division, CPU was crowned as the champion with eight golds, five silvers and one bronze medals while CSCJ defended their crown in the girls division. 

Most bemedalled swimmers were Matthew Palero of CPU and Jillian Bata of CSCJ./PN
