Jeep turns turtle; 8 injured

ILOILO – Eight individuals, including three minors, were injured after the Hummer jeep they were riding turned turtle in Barangay Bacuranan, Passi City around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The victims were Kevin Gardoce, 19; Gernald Macasa, 21; Gerald Macasa, 23; Jay Padernal, 24; two 17-year-old lads and another 15-year-old boy. They were all residents of Barangay Aglalana, Passi City.

The driver of the vehicle was Daniel Ligasan, also a resident of Barangay Aglalana.

In an interview with Panay News, Police Staff Sergeant Jervin Palec, traffic investigator of the Passi City Police Station, said the victims were from Barangay Aglalana and headed to the city proper.

The jeep turned turtle when Ligasa suddenly stepped on the brakes.

The victims sustained cuts and bruises.

The Bureau of Fire Protection in Passi City immediately responded to the accident, provided first aid to the victims, and took them to a nearby hospital for proper medication./PN
