BACOLOD City – A woman was killed while three others were injured in a road accident in Barangay Ani-e, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Municipal police head Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan identified the casualty as the 56-year-old Vangeline Brasona of Barangay Laga-an, Calatrava.
Brasona sustained head and body injuries after the driver of the jeepney she and the three others were riding lost control of the vehicle, resulting to the accident around 7:30 a.m. on May 31.
Brasona was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City where the attending physician pronounced her “dead on arrival.”
Among those who were injured were Barangay Marcelo, Calatrava residents 29-year-old Maricel Libod-Libod and 40-year-old Angela Trinidad, and 40-year-old Carolina Maloloy-on of Barangay Hinab-ongan, Calatrava, a police report showed.
The jeepney driver – 40-year-old Jessie Ogabang of Toboso, Negros Occidental – surrendered to the police but was released after an hour-long detention./PN
