Jeepney flips, 12 hurt

ANTIQUE – Twelve passengers of a jeepney that flipped over in Barangay Banawon, Hamtic, Antique, sustained minor injuries on Sunday, March 26.

The jeepney was from San Jose town going to Iloilo City. Its engine got suddenly detached, according to Police Major John Paul M. Guay, officer-in-charge of the Hamtic Municipal Police Station.

The vehicle then tumbled into a cornfield.

Driver Rene Bucayan, 46, was a resident of Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz.

The passengers were brought to the Diosdado Macapagal District Hospital in Tobias Fornier and the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose de Buenavista.

The vehicle was owned by a private liniment oil company, where the 12 passengers were working./PN
