FRESH from the pilot week of her latest primetime series “Love You Two,” Kapuso Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado is treating her Ilonggo fans today, Saturday in a Kapuso Mall Show courtesy of GMA Regional TV.
Joining Jennylyn in the Kapuso Mall Show in Vista Mall Iloilo are the stars of “Kara Mia” – Mika dela Cruz, Paul Salas, and Mike Tan. The afternoon treat begins at 4 p.m.
Happening that day as well is the Iloilo leg of “The Clash” Auditions to be led by “The Clash” first runner-up Jong Madaliday.
After the successful run of GMA Network’s singing competition last year, “The Clash” is opening its doors once more to singing hopefuls across the Philippines. The Iloilo leg will accommodate aspirants in Vista Mall beginning 9 a.m. The competition welcomes all male and female Filipinos, amateur and professional, 16-years-old and above. Applicants need to bring the original and photocopy of their birth certificate and two recent photos (one 2×2 and one full body shot). They also need to prepare at least two songs (English and Filipino) for the audition with minus-1 audio or to be performed with musical instruments.
The heart-warming romantic comedy series “Love You Two” premiered on GMA Telebabad last April 22 and sees the much awaited tandem of Jennylyn and sought-after actor Gabby Concepcion. Jennylyn breathes life to Raffy, a successful career woman who will find her heart broken when her boyfriend Theo (Clint Bondad) leaves her behind for a career abroad.
Gabby, on the other hand, is Jake, the charming businessman and Kalayaan Hotel owner who remains to be a dashing debonair even in his 40s. Joining Jennylyn and Gabby are Solenn Heussaff as Lianne, Jake’s free-spirited ex-fiancée who remained friends with him even after their breakup; and Shaira Diaz who plays Sam, Raffy’s spunky and pretty younger sister and a true-blue millennial who wants to experience everything at once. How can Raffy and Sam, two sisters who are very close to another, deal with the fact that they’ve fallen for the same man – Jake?
Meanwhile, viewers continue to get hooked on “Kara Mia” bannered by Barbie Forteza and Mika Dela Cruz. It tells the story of sisters Kara (Barbie) and Mia (Mika) who were born with Disprosopus or craniofacial duplication – a congenital defect where they have two faces but share only one body. But even if they are “one” person, the two sisters cannot be more different. Kind, jolly, and smart, Kara believes that this “defect” is what makes her unique and special, and she loves her sister Mia with all her heart. Mia, on the other hand, is the mischievous one. She is lazy, pessimistic, and dreams of being an actress. She is envious of Kara and wants nothing more than to be her own person.
Adding a dose of enchantment to the series is Mike Tan as Iswal, the mischievous engkanto who lives in the forest. Paul Salas plays the role of Chino, Boni’s (Jak Roberto) handsome and well-off cousin who will steal Kara’s heart.
“We are inviting everyone to an afternoon of fun and kilig in Iloilo with Love You Two’s Jennylyn Mercado and Kara Mia’s Mika dela Cruz, Paul Salas, and Mike Tan,” says GMA RTV Vice President and Head Oliver Amoroso. “We hope our Kapusong Ilonggo will continue to support us as we mount various events all over the country. Thank you for the unwavering love you give us and our Kapuso artists,” he ends./PN
