Jennylyn Mercado enjoys working with Gabby Concepcion, describing him as “masayang ka-trabaho” as they headline the latest heart-warming romantic comedy series “Love You Two” on GMA Telebabad.
“Masayahing tao si Sir Gabby. Magaling na artista. Kaya ang saya ng set namin, masarap syang ka trabaho,” said Jennylyn.
She downplayed the age difference between her and Gabby as her leading man, reiterating that she is comfortable working with Gabby.
“Okay lang naman po kahit sinong leading man. Wala naman pong problema basta okay yung working relationship n’yo,” she stressed.
The light-hearted and feel-good drama series started airing last April 22. Jennylyn said she also enjoys doing these type of new projects.
“Masarap syang gawin kasi rom-com (romantic comedy) po sya so hindi masyadong mabigat. Feel good lang sya, maraming nakakatawang eksena,” she said.
Jennylyn breathes life to Raffy, a woman who has a thriving career and is happily in a relationship. Gabby is Jake, the charming businessman and Kalayaan Hotel one who remains to be a dashing debonair even in his 40s.
For their first team-up together, Jennylyn and Gabby showcase their strength as icons of the rom-com genre. Shaira Diaz who plays Sam or Raffy’s little sister, for her part, brings to the screen a refreshing character that adds an interesting twist to the story. After all, how can Raffy and Sam, two sisters who are very close to another, deal with the fact that they’ve fallen for the same man, their “the one”? If they’re all saying “I love you, two” in their own meanings, who gets the happy ending?
Personally, Jennylyn said that she can relate to the role her role as Raffy in terms of love and sacrifices for the family.
“Kung ano yung sinasakripisyo niya para sa pamilya niya, para sa happiness at pangangailangan nang pamilya. Seguro doon, doon talaga ako nakaka-relate kasi ganun si Raffy magmahal, buong-buo pati doon sa nagging boyfriend nya at nakakasama niya sa buhay,” said Jennylyn. (Glenda Tayona/PN)
