ILOILO City – Mayor-elect Jerry Treñas has invited elected city councilors from the camp of outgoing Mayor Jose Espinosa III to join him and his allied councilors in an inauguration ceremony this June 28.
Re-elected councilors Eduardo Peñaredondo and Mandrie Malabor confirmed the verbal invitation.
Peñaredondo said he would likely to attend the inauguration.
“Whoever is the mayor nagabulig gid ako. I would like also to honor his (Treñas) authority and disposition,” he said.
Treñas’ inauguration will be at the Iloilo Convention Center in Mandurriao district.
Re-elected councilors Candice Magdalane Tupas and Lyndon Acap, who also both ran under Espinosa’s slate, were also invited.
Malabor said he has yet to decide; their group will have a discussion about it.
Other councilors expected at the inauguration are Treñas’ allies Love-love Baronda, Rudolf Ganzon, Jay Treñas, Ely Estante Jr., Romel Duron, Alan Zaldivar, and Jojo Javellana./PN
