ILONGGO Aaron Jeruta vowed to bring the much-needed experience to the youth-laden Iloilo United Royals in the third season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Jeruta said in an interview with Courtside Philippines that he feels at home to be playing for his home team after spending his first two seasons and winning a MPBL crown with the San Juan Knights.

“I need to bring all the experience I gained last season from San Juan Knights,” the Jaro, Iloilo native Jeruta. “Championship and playoffs experience. It was not easy for us back in San Juan and I think I have grown from that experience.”

“I feel at home now that I am playing for Royals. I am thankful to coach Eric (Gonzales) for getting me here,” he added.  This is a much younger team compared to San Juan so I am looking forward to help them.”

Jeruta, who was a former standout of Centro Escolar University Scorpions, said in parting that he will always be grateful to the Knights organization as he considers San Juan as his second home.

In his 36 games for the Knights during the Datu Cup, Jeruta registered averages of 5.19 points, 3.53 rebounds, 3.39 assists, and 18.3 minutes per outing.

Jeruta will be one of the several Ilonggos in the Royals squad aside from Andrei Pantin, Gerry Antonio Abadiano, Jay Javelosa, and Rhagnee Sinco./PN
