Jetty ports earn P121M in first half

KALIBO, Aklan — Collections in jetty ports in Aklan reached a total of P121.399 million during the first half of this year.

Included in the earnings were terminal and environment fees, and rolling cargoes and wharfage fees for roll-on, roll-off (roro) vessels in Caticlan and Cagban ports in Malay town, data from the Provincial Treasurer’s Office showed.

From January to June, Caticlan port alone collected terminal fees worth P70.014 million.

A total of P9.587 million was collected in January and P9.218 million in February, while collections in the next four months totaled P51.206 million.

Of the total revenue, the province collected P4.637 million as its 15-percent share of environmental fees charged to non-Aklanon guests at the Caticlan port.

Last year, the province posted P9.559 million worth of environmental fee collection.

Collections for terminal fee of roro passengers reached P21.164 million, and the fees for rolling cargoes, P13.792 million.

Caticlan port collected P32.204 million as terminal fee of roro passengers last year, P23.865 million in 2012, and P11.742 million in 2011.

Rolling cargo fees amounted to P23.850 million last year, P22.381 million in 2012, and P23.916 million in 2011.

At Cagban port, terminal fee collection from January to June this year reached P68.041 million.

May posted the highest collection with P16.392 million, while April and January had P14.182 million and P10.918 million, respectively.

Last year, Cagban port collected P102.577 million in terminal fees.

January of last year had P9.549 million in collections; February, P11.088 million; March, P11.414 million; April, P14.916 million; May, P14.465 million; and June, P7.473 million.

July posted a collection of P6.266 million; August, P3.999 million; September, P2.715 million; October, P5.323 million; November, P6.868 million; and December, P8.495 million. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
