MANILA – Will opposition senator Jinggoy Estrada also come up with a “thank you” list?
Will his speech include an audio-visual presentation (AVP), too?
Today, Estrada is set to deliver his third privilege speech on the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam. He is one of the principal accused.
Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., a close friend of Estrada, delivered his on Monday.
In his seven-page privilege speech, Revilla thanked his supporters, fellow lawmakers and even former presidents.
The senator from Cavite also played an AVP that featured his original composition, Salamat, kaibigan.
He encouraged President Benigno Aquino III to “lead this country not with hatred but with love.”
Estrada and Revilla are facing plunder charges before the Sandiganbayan in connection to the pork barrel scam.
The filing of cases did not surprise him, stressed Estrada.
“When Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales spoke about the PDAF case at her speaking engagement in New York, that already sealed our date,” the lawmaker said.
The Office of the Ombudsman, he also said, rejected their motion for reconsideration a few days after Morales arrived from New York.
The cases have been “railroaded,” Estrada added.
“Masyado nilang minabilis ang kaso. Mukha yatang hindi binasa iyong aming motion for reconsideration. And I disagree doon sa kanyang sinabi na wala kaming bagong arguments,” he stressed./PN
