SINCE making his showbiz comeback, JM de Guzman has been working almost non-stop.
Aside from his afternoon series “Araw Gabi,” de Guzman also appears on “ASAP” every Sunday. And now he is set to work on a new movie opposite Rhian Ramos.
“Next week yata mag-start na kami with Rhian Ramos under TBA Studios. Rom-com siya. So far, storycon pa lang,” he told PEP in an interview.
TBA Studios is the film outfit behind acclaimed movies like “Heneral Luna,” “Birdshot” and the upcoming “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”
Although they belong to rival networks, de Guzman said he and Ramos no longer need to break the ice.
“Makulit [siya]. Kasi may group chat kami na doon kami nagba-bond sa Viber group na ‘yun. Nagkukulitan na kami para mawala na ‘yung hiya. Sa itsura niya, ang layo ng pagkakalog niya,” he said about his new leading lady.
De Guzman said he couldn’t be any happier to have been blessed with another chance in showbiz.
“Masaya, masarap sa pakiramdam. Grace na siya para sa akin ng Diyos. Hindi siya something na deserve ko o ginawa ko kaya nangyayari ito. Hindi makapaniwala, may ganung araw na, ‘Lord, salamat na lang. Baka may rason kaya mo binibigay sa akin ito.’ Wala ng words na masasabi ngayon. Unbelievable,” he said.
De Guzman said he is also overwhelmed with the amount of support he’s receiving right now.
“Yung nakakatuwa ‘yung support ng tao, kung paano sila namo-move din sa nangyayari sa buhay ko. Daily dose of inspiration and energy na ‘yung pagmamahal nila. Hindi na talaga ako babalik dun sa dati. One thing din na na-prove ko, love lang talaga ang cure sa lahat,” he said.
Because of this, the actor said he has decided to focus on his career and allow his love life to take the backseat.
“Parang masyado yata akong kampante at arogante na kung uunahin ko pa ang love life, na dapat inuna ko ang sarili ko at ang career ko,” he said. (Pep.ph)
