ILOILO City – A 37-year-old unemployed man was caught with illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district on Thursday, March 6.
Alias “Ben” is a native of Ajuy, Iloilo but had been temporarily staying in Barangay Pali, Mandurriao, police said.
Iloilo City Police Station 10’s (ICPS10) Station Drug Enforcement Team seized approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at P408,000 from the suspect.
Police Lieutenant Cosmeflor Marco, deputy station commander of ICPS10, said Ben resorted to drug dealing as his primary source of income.
“He had no job, and this was his means of livelihood,” Marco said.
Authorities were tracing the suspect’s source of illegal drugs as part of their ongoing investigation.
Ben, detained at PS10, will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002.
