ROXAS City – Job opportunities for construction workers in Capiz are up for grabs at the two-day Special Recruitment Program (SRP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) here.
TESDA Capiz provincial director Engr. Abdel Bakhri Hajan said they are set for the “jobs bridging” of their trained construction workers for the government’s “Build, Build, Build” program.
The “Build, Build, Build” Program is among the priority agenda of President Rodrigo Duterte. It aims to accelerate infrastructure and the development of industries that will yield robust growth across the archipelago, create jobs and uplift the lives of Filipinos.
“We will have the Special Recruitment Program on Feb. 9 at Angeles Lema Villareal Cultural Center in Mambusao town and on Feb. 10 at Dumalag Civic Center in Dumalag, Capiz,” he said.
House of Representatives Majority Leader and 2nd District representative Fredenil Castro will be the guest speaker during the opening program in the two towns.
Hajan said those TESDA-trained in 2018 in the construction sector will be given the opportunity to get employed under the “Build, Build, Build” program.
He, however, clarified that these job opportunities are not only limited to TESDA training graduates but also to other skilled workers.
Hajan said almost 1,000 individuals were able to graduate from their training for the construction sector and were issued with National Certificate II.
The Jobs Bridging here for the “Build, Build, Build” program is in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)- Public Employment Service Offices and Local Government Units in Capiz. (PIA/PN)
