ILOILO City – Ten regular city government employees detailed at the office of Cong. Jerry Treñas have been ordered to return to their respective mother units.
“We need them diri sa city hall,” said City Administrator Hernando Galvez.
He denied that the recall order issued by Mayor Jose Espinosa III was politically motivated.
Treñas and Espinosa are running against each other for mayor in the May 13, 2019 midterm elections.
The 10 employees have been working at Treñas’ office since 2010.
Personnel management is one of Galvez’s tasks as city administrator. Streamlining city government employees is a continuing processing, he stressed.
“Under the law, ang aton nga detail should not be more than one year. Kon nagsobra sila, they should be asked why,” sad Galvez.
The 10 regular city government employees were the following:
* Lucia Modina (General Services Office or GSO)
* Lilanie Ticzon (City Social Welfare and Development Office or CSWDO)
* Marne Tecson (CSWDO)
* Elizabeth Ventura (Public Safety and Traffic Management Office)
* Ruel Patnubay (City Planning and Development Office)
* Gina Villarosa (GSO)
* Aaron Hope Guanzon (GSO)
* Godofredo Bergantino (City Engineer’s Office)
* Suzzette Billones (GSO)
* Narciso Pueblo Jr. (GSO)
These employees have been working with the city government from way back when Treñas was still the mayor.
When Treñas was elected congressman in 2010, Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog detailed them to the congressman’s office.
“I told you previously, ako mismo naalarma. We have plenty of permanent employees nga even ang ila titles wala nagasanto sa pag-eksister sang syudad,” said Galvez.
Some of the 10 employees took a leave of absence after receiving the order to return to their mother units, said Galvez.
“Kon aprobahan sang ila department head indi ta man sila ma-compel to report kon may leave credits pa sila,” he said.
In May, three city government employees were pulled out from Treñas’ office and returned to their mother: Cherry Jover-Ampig, assistant department head II; Rudina Blas, day care worker; and Snow Paredes, administrative assistant I.
Ampig’s mother unit was the City Civil Registrar’s Office. Blas was connected with the CSWDO Paredes was with the City Tourism and Development Office.
“Isa lang mahambal ko sa inyo: I am not a politician and I have no plan of becoming a politician,” said Galvez./PN
