PLAYERS from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University spearheaded the Iloilo PRISAA lineup that will battle in a two-day exhibition match with University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons this weekend.
Iloilo PRISAA MVP awardee Fritchard Dulce bannered the squad along with his John B. teammates Ghade Mark Lingga, Hiljohn Cartagena, June Bantilaran, Christiane Alabe and Rayghan Panizales.
Other players from John B. who will suit up for the Genesis Sasuman-mentored team were Alec Leanny Villanueva, Japphet Sampiano, Nelson Tandog, and Aron Jay Aspiras.
Completing the Ilonggo players were Marvin Cuerbo, Zaldy Patizar and Dionel Fatla-onag of Western Institute of Technology, and Miguel Sasuman, Elcyd Pascual and Dan John Saladar of Central Philippine University.
To make the selection competitive against the UAAP menās basketball runner-ups, the Iloilo PRISAA team are to be reinforced by foreign players Jeffakins Aguarra and Ojuola Emmanuel.
āEven if we are underdogs in this two-day exhibition, we will promise the Ilonggo fans that we will give University of the Philippines menās basketball team a good fight,ā said coach Sasuman.
The UP-Iloilo Collegiate Selection match for Jan. 19 will be held at three in the afternoon at the City of Passi Arena in Passi City, while the match on Jan. 20 will be held at University of San Agustin Gym at 10 a.m./PN
