SAN JOSE, Antique – Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in this province are encouraged to join ARBO Merkado, a Facebook-based online marketing platform where they can list their products for sale.

“We encourage the ARBOs to have their products marketed through the ARBO Merkado considering that there is still the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic and their face-to-face transactions are limited,” Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Antique marketing assistance officer Cherish Sane Tonding said on Wednesday.

The platform has already attracted seven ARBOs that manufacture food and non-food goods.

“In the ARBO Merkado, we have products such as squash canton with malunggay, malunggay powder, ginger brew, turmeric brew, taro chips, camote chips, and nito products already posted,” she stated.

The squash canton with malunggay and malunggay powder are produced by the Esparar Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Barbaza; the ginger brew, turmeric brew, taro chips, and camote chips are made by the Nagbangi I Agrarian Reform Cooperative in San Remigio; and nito products such as coasters, placemats, and pots are from the Sta. Ana San Joaquin Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Pandan.

DAR Antique is willing to assist them if they require assistance with a photograph or other advertising materials.

According to DAR regional director Sheila B. Enciso at the turnover of various support facilities in the town of Valderrama recently, the ARBO Merkado aims to assist beneficiaries of agricultural reform in promoting their products.(PNA/PN)
