BACOLOD City – For belittling his efforts as head of Task Force Botagoy, Rey Demisana challenged Councilor Carl Lopez to go with them during their night duties.
Demisana was reacting to Lopez’s criticism of the task force’s “slow reaction” over the reported illegal slaughtering of animals in Barangay 41 on Thursday.
The councilor claimed he ordered the task force to look into the complaint about 1:30 p.m. but it only responded around 6:30 p.m.
Village officials had already buried the condemned carcasses of the slaughtered animals when Demisana’s group arrived.
“We only operate during the evening until the early morning,” he said.
Lopez, he said, can join the task force during operations “but I am strict with attendance.”
“If the councilor is underestimating me, he can ask Mayor Monico Puentevella to replace me as head of the task force,” Demisana added./PN
