JOLLIBEE Iloilo, in partnership with the Iloilo City government and the Department of Education, has introduced the “Hope from Scratch” project – a school to school campaign aimed to collect scratch papers from students and staff for recycling into school supplies and materials to be given out to less fortunate elementary school students.
With the innovative project Jollibee in Iloilo collected scratch papers from schools, government and private offices in the city. The scratch papers were recycled into notebooks, and the finished product was finally officially distributed to underprivileged students of Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School, Feliciana Java Kelly Elementary School, and Molo 1 Elementary School on Sept. 28.
Through the “Hope from Scratch” project, Jollibee hopes to be part of the solution in protecting the environment by recycling and at the same time, help out the kids through provision of notebooks they can use for learning at school.
Jollibee in Iloilo City collected at least 60,000 pieces of scratch papers to produce more than 2,000 notebooks by the end of September. Some of the schools and institutions Jollibee visited for their “Hope from Scratch” drive were the Iloilo City government, Central Philippine University (CPU), West Visayas State University (WVSU), and Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U)./PN
