LEARNING and fun are definitely synonyms especially with Jollibee as a teacher!
Since Aug. 29, Jollibee teaches Ilonggo history to students coming from different schools through the very entertaining and flabbergasting stage play called “Beeda Iloilo.”
After having taught different pupils coming from schools such as Iloilo Central Elementary School, Jaro II Elementary School, and La Paz I Elementary School, the time has come for “Beeda Iloilo” to run its finale performance. And although it was the last of this educational adventure, the energy goes beyond the sky’s limit!
This finale performance happened when Jollibee joined the Department of Education Leadership Training with 343 students last Sept. 21 at around 4 p.m. at the Crystal Ballroom of Punta Villa Resort. The students coming from the seven school districts were more than enthusiastic when Jollibee and his whole gang, Hetty, Mr. Yum, Popo, and Twirlie appeared to share all their knowledge.
The Jollibee gang introduced four important historical figures who spoke of their monologues: General Martin Delgado, Teresa Magbanua, Graciano Lopez-Jaena, and Quintin Sala. They were brought to life by Ilonggo talents, Quin Gomer Dellera, Chia Mae Chua, Jenel Condes, and Ryl Gregory Nuñez. Also, Kuya Kim (played by Ilonggo talent, Denver Tajanlangit) came up the stage to tell the kids about the history of Iloilo and as well as the events, food, and places it is known for.
The children were indeed focused on the stage play. They proved it during the game where they have to race in front to be able to the first to answer to the staff’s question. One correct answer is equal to one Yumburger. And one Yumburger? It is equal to a wide grin.
Since it was the finale performance, it isn’t only Jollibee and his gang who danced but everybody. Yes, everybody! As soon as the music filled all the spaces of the hall, everyone stood up and danced to the steps of Jollibee and his gang. The students were laughing while they’re doing so, completely dazed that their idol, Jollibee is dancing before their very eyes.
Chloe Jade Pedroso of Buntatala Elementary School said that she really enjoyed the event as she has always been a fan of Jollibee and its burger steak.
After the event, a group of students from Bo. Obrero Elementary School joyfully told Panay News that they felt so happy because Jollibee not only danced but brought their favorite Ilongga Heroine, Teresa Magbanua to life. When asked why she is their favorite hero, they replied, “Because she is a woman who fought for the country. It felt empowering!” They were screaming on top of their lungs, still haven’t gotten over the fun they felt during the event.
“Beeda Iloilo’s” finale is filled with the highest level of fun and energy. Without any doubts, one can truly say that the event ended with the jolliest feeling!/PN
