Jordan barangay on COVID-19 lockdown

ILOILO City – Barangay Espinosa in Jordan, Guimaras went on lockdown yesterday.

Three residents tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), said Mayor Ruben Corpuz.

In an effort to stop the virus from spreading, Corpuz issued Executive Order (EO) No. 48 enforcing stringent community quarantine in the village for four days.
“The lockdown would give way for contact tracing. All direct contacts of the residents who tested positive for COVID-19 shall be swabbed and undergo home quarantine,” read part of Corpuz’s EO.

Under his directive, Corpuz ordered the following measures:

* barriers or checkpoints in the boundaries of the barangay shall be put up to ensure there is no inbound or outbound movement in the village

* constant and maximum police visibility shall be implemented in the village to prevent COVID-19 from spreading further

* liquor ban shall be implemented in the barangay during the duration of the lockdown to secure that there will be no gathering in the respective households and other related activities

* all residents shall not be allowed to go out from their respective households and direct contacts shall undergo strict home quarantine for 14 days

* frontliners and other individuals working outside of the barangay shall be allowed to leave during the duration of the lockdown, given that they are not identified as direct contacts of patients positive for COVID-19 * constant handwashing, wearing of face mask, face shield and social distancing shall be strictly implemented in the village
* the barangay should assign a coordinator per sitio
