JORDAN, Guimaras – A total of 325 kids between five to 11 years old in Jordan, Guimaras received the vaccine against coronavirus disease in 2019 (COVID-19) in February.
According to the report of the Rural Health Unit (RHU)- Jordan, 325 kids out of 2,500 kids target pediatric population of Jordan received the vaccine last February.
RHU-Jordan did not have any listed adverse effects in vaccinating kids after only mild pain was felt on the injection site.
Because of this, RHU-Jordan along with Mayor Ruben B. Corpuz continues to encourage parents or guardians of kids to come to their RHU to get a schedule.
“Let us be free and protected against COVID. Thank you parents for your trust and cooperation. Again COVID vaccines are proven safe and effective, ”RHU-Jordan said in a statement posted on their official Facebook page.
All parents or guardians need to bring during vaccination is the original copy of the birth certificate and secondary identification cards like an authenticated medical certificate of the childbearing the name of the parent, issued by hospital or DOH; baptismal certificate of the child with the name of the parent/s; school ID or records of the child, among others. Parents or guardians should also keep in mind the expected side effects after vaccination like pain at the vaccination site, fatigue, headache, and fever.
The RHU-Jordan vaccine used for five to 11 years old is the reformulated Pfizer vaccine allotted by the Department of Health.
To recall, Guimaras received 2,000 doses of reformulated Pfizer vaccine distributed in the towns of Jordan, Sibunag, San Lorenzo, Nueva Valencia, and Buenavista./PN
