JORDAN, Guimaras – This town recorded 15 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Aug. 17.
Of these cases, 13 were in the town’s quarantine facility while two were confined at the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital.
The new cases raised to 343 the total recorded COVID-19 infections in Jordan since the pandemic started last year.
The 15 patients were from the following barangays:
* 62-year-old female from Poblacion
* 59-year-old male from Alagusioc
* 29-year-old male from San Miguel
* 32-year-old female from San Miguel
* 29-year-old male from Balcon Maravilla
* 22-year-old female from Rizal
* 13-year-old male from Sta. Teresa
* 17-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 20-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 48-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 31-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 51-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 33-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 22-year-old female from Sta. Teresa
* 25-year-old male from Sta. Teresa
As of Aug. 17, Jordan had 46 active cases, 383 cases that recovered and 14 deaths.
The 46 active cases were in barangays San Miguel (12), Poblacion (two), Sta. Teresa (15), Espinosa (five), Alagusioc (five), Balcon Melliza (one), Balcon Maravilla (two), Sinapsapan (two), Morobuan (one), and Rizal (one).
The Rural Health Unit (RHU) urged residents to just stay at home if they have no essential travels or transactions to avoid contracting COVID-19.
Immediately seek medical help, it added, if one has flu-like symptoms.
“Do this early. Do not wait for complications to set in,” the RHU stressed./PN
