Jordan records 4 new COVID-19 cases

JORDAN, Guimaras – This municipality recorded four new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on March 17, with one of them eventually succumbing to the illness.

The fatality was from Barangay San Miguel.

The three others were from Barangay Poblacion. Asymptomatic, they were taken to the town’s quarantine facility.

As this was being written, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Jordan was still trying to figure out how the four contracted COVID-19.

Family members of the four cases were placed under strict home quarantine.

As of March 18, Jordan’s cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 112, with five deaths and 103 that recovered.

The deaths were in Barangay San Miguel (two), Barangay Rizal (two) and Barangay Balcon Maravilla (one).

Mayor Ruben Corpuz appealed to his constituents: “Please be with us on this fight. Be responsible and protect your family. Observe strict health protocols (such as the wearing of facemasks and face shields, observing physical distancing and proper washing of hands).”

He also urged them to “please limit movements according to necessity…Avoid exposing yourselves to thick crowds. If you could stay home, much better. If there’s a need to go out, kindly protect yourselves.”/PN
