JORDAN, Guimaras – A 63-year-old male senior citizen being isolated at the quarantined facility here was found dead on Monday morning.
According to Dr. Robel Gencianeo, municipal health officer, his staff checked the senior citizen’s room because the patient was not answering his mobile phone. They found him already dead.
The senior citizen was a resident of Barangay San Miguel and was quarantined after his swab test result showed him having contracted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
He was believed to have suffered from cardiac arrest on Sunday night.
Gencianeo said the patient was asymptomatic and seemed well the past six days.
He was well-provided in his quarantine room, added Gencianeo.
Three other COVID-19-related deaths were recorded in Jordan on Monday. These were the following:
* 36-year-old male from Barangay Maravilla
* 33-year-old male from Barangay Poblacion
* 73-year-old female from Barangay Sta. Teresa
These four deaths increased to 13 the COVID-19 death toll in Jordan.
The casualties were in the barangays of San Miguel (four), Rizal (two), Hoskyn (two), Maravilla (two), Sta. Teresa (one), Sinapsapan (one), and Poblacion (one).
As of June 21 Guimaras had 25 active COVID-19 cases and 190 that recovered./PN
