JORDAN, Guimaras – This municipality recorded its first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) since Dec. 8, 2020.

Jordan’s first – and so far its only – COVID-19 case for 2021 was confirmed on Jan. 10.

This 17-year-old male patient from Barangay San Miguel was asymptomatic and placed on quarantine.

According to the Rural Health Unit of Jordan, the patient had a family member who worked in a hospital.

This family member was swabbed for COVID-19 testing, too. The result was yet to be released as this was being written.

Other family members of the patient, considered his close contacts, were tested yesterday morning. It was unclear when the results would be released.

Overall, Jordan’s cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 86 (since recording started in March last year) with four deaths.
