MARKING its third annual celebration of holiday welcoming, A Joyous Luminescence unfolded as a vibrant tribute to Bacolod’s cultural richness with Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.
The Ceremonial Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 23 was held at the hotel’s Marapara pool deck on the second level. It started with a captivating storytelling performance that brought characters revolving around “Santa’s Workshop” to life.
Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s General Manager, Sherwin Lucas, eloquently captured in his message the essence of the festivities.
“This year’s “Santa’s Workshop” serves as a symbolic reflection of the dedication and diligence we invest daily in our workshop of crafting unforgettable moments,” he said, emphasizing how the Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod team has been working hard to deliver significant connections and top-notch service to its guests.
The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Archbishop Charles John Brown, also graced the ceremony.
“May this Christmas be a time to receive the love of God in us, recognize the love of God in others, and try to receive them as our brothers and sisters,” he said, adding that the hotel is one of the places that are in the business of offering, reception of receiving people and giving hospitality.
Councilor Em Ang, who represented Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, emphasized in her speech the importance of celebrating the holidays, focusing on gratitude and thanksgiving.
Ms. Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., shared a heartfelt toast after the Thanksgiving dinner, inspiring gratitude among the guests and team members.
Prior to the tree lighting ceremony, “Light and Life Through Glass,” a stained-glass art exhibit by Bacolodnon artist Sharon Agapuyan, was launched.
“Working with glass is amazing for me, and I feel blessed to be able to do it. As I work, I always feel excited and sometimes impatient to finish a piece,” Agapuyan said, explaining that stained glass is a medium aided by light to be fully appreciated.
The exhibit will run from Nov. 23, 2023, to Feb. 29, 2024.
Ang, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the exhibit, said, “The stained glass art is something unique. It takes a lot of passion to create something like this.”/PN
