Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia value having ‘small fights?’

LIKE their on-and-off fights as rivals in their latest movie, “I Love You, Hater,” lead stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto acknowledged that they too have had their fair share of misunderstandings.

But as they explained in a press conference Friday, having these “small fights” means that they “love” each other.

To the surprise of many reporters in attendance, Barretto revealed that she and Garcia are currently not in the best of terms. She teased that they are “very much nagtatampuhan” because they are “humans” and a “normal couple,” though she refused to go into detail.

She did add a brief explanation about the importance of having disagreements every now and then, saying: “[It’s normal], especially because you love each other, so every single thing that they do, it affects you, it hurts you, it bothers you.’

“It’s that passionate. So if we didn’t care about each other, he will hurt me and I wouldn’t care. But that’s a bad thing if you didn’t care, ‘di ba?” she reasoned.

During the press conference, many observed that the love team kept a distance from each other. This prompted a reaction from Giselle Andres, who directed the two in “I Love You, Hater.”

Maaayos din ‘yan – ayos na sila after five minutes,” she quipped, adding that it’s nothing new for both of them.

In an interview afterward, Garcia also did not share the reason for their fight but answered how he and his love team partner mend fences. “Dapat ‘pag nag-uusap kayo, hindi kayo galit,” he said.(ABS-CBN News)
