TODAY, May 1, is traditionally Labor Day and it’s celebrated pretty much all over the world with rallies of labor groups and in Russia they have this big May 1 parade in Red Square. In this archipelago there’s also the traditional Labor Day rally at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park, Manila.
But we’re not here to talk about how the ordinary working class is still exploited in factories and sweatshops all over the world. We are also not talking about overworked and underpaid teachers, struggling writers, starving artists and the rest of the “job orders” in city hall.
The workers of the world can unite some other time but not today in my column.
Neither are we talking about Jude Sabio, the so-called lawyer of self-confessed “hit man” and “Davao Death Squad” member Edgar Matobato. This guy Jude Sabio just went to the International Criminal Court or ICC in The Hague, Netherlands to submit information against President Rodrigo Duterte.
This fellow Sabio claims to have filed a case against President Rodrigo Duterte which is misleading as only ICC judges and those with licences to practice in the ICC can do so.
It seems that Jude Sabio does not have a license to practice in the International Criminal Court or ICC so he’s on the same level as the janitor in the ICC; he could have just emailed the information and it will have the same effect.
Come to think of it, where did Jude and Edgar get the money to finance this trip to The Hague which probably cost not a few but lots of thousands of pesos? Lola Loida perhaps?
By the way, did you notice that Art, Edgar and Jude have several things in common? They’re all from Mindanao, they’re all obese with large beer belly, ugly and absolutely no sense of style.
And now back to “Leni’s Kitchen.” In a forum last April 21 at the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Vice President Leni Robredo suggested that the Philippine government decriminalize illegal drugs.
Of course, that statement from Leni Robredo got a lot of responses and comments mostly from netizens and sensible natives. The comments and responses were mostly negative, derogatory, with some condescending plus downright insults. I suppose that is to be expected as Leni always puts her naked foot to her mouth with her dense statements bordering on the realm of stupidity.
Oh, and Leni-bashing seems to be fashionable these days. She is the reincarnation and more of Kris Aquino. Here are some excerpts from two notable persons on Leni Robredo and decriminalizing illegal drugs:
* Teddy Locsin Jr. (@teddyboylocsin), the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations on Twitter:
“This woman is a real idiot. Let’s legalize murder while we’re at it and rape as well. Legalize use you cartelize pushing.
“Best practices? Best practices of ending drug menace or cartelizing drugs? She just took the great cause of feminism back to the Stone Age.
“Now that is really stupid. Portugal is a small country. Legalizing drugs here will turn us over 2 a cartel with China connection.
“She’s fine. I know really crazy people. She’s just not smart. And it doesn’t help that she listens to her old LP crowd of retards.”
There are a few more tweets from Teddyboy Locsin on Leni Robredo on her suggestion to decriminalize illegal drugs; I just picked these out to give you the picture.
* Sass Rogando Sasot on Facebook:
“Ok lang na i-decriminalize ang shabu use. Pero gusto ko ang itawag sa government-run shabu lab ay ‘Leni’s Kitchen’ in honor of the Vice President who recommended it.”
For the uninitiated, this statement is called sarcasm in the same level as Social Welfare Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy’s comment on the European Union to concentrate on child pornography.
If President Rodrigo Duterte will order the Philippine National Police to arrest all those who sell dog meat for human consumption, I bet my dog’s black balls that Leni Robredo will come out with a statement against this order faster than you can say Bolet Banal.
And that, folks, is Maria Leonora Gerona Robredo lurking in the wings, waiting to come out with any statement as long as it is against or the opposite of what President Rodrigo Duterte will say.
FYI, Section 7 Article 7 of RA 9482 prohibits the sale of dog meat for human consumption. Who knows, maybe “Leni’s Kitchen” will sell lugaw, dog meat dishes together with “legalized” shabu. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
