I SAID before that I won’t gatecrash the “ménage a trois” of Rommel Ynion, Cong. Jerry Treñas and Councilor Plaridel Nava as it seemed so silly to me and I never expected it to blow out of proportions. As it turned out, it’s definitely the biggest issue in “I Am Iloilo” even making it to the front page of the Monday edition of Panay News.

So I suppose it’s inevitable that I join the fray and write about “Le Affair “or as I call it, the “The Treñas, Nava Peep Show.”

Does this mean that the natives are finally bored with “Lady Gaga”…err…I mean the “Lady of Naga” Leni Robredo? Maybe Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima is no longer interesting or former World Mayor No. 5 Jed Mabilog has become passé.

One thing for sure, the restless natives of “I Am Iloilo” are starved for some titillating issues and the “Treñas, Nava Peep Show” has the makings of a rated R, B movie skin flick.

If the “Treñas, Nava Peep Show” were “Fifty Shades Darker”, Rommel Ynion would be playing the role of Eric Johnson or “Jack Hyde”, a minor but important one in the love triangle. Cong. Jerry Treñas will be Jamie Dornan or “Christian Grey” while Councilor Plaridel Nava would be Dakota Johnson or “Ana Steele.”

Is that sexy and titillating enough for you guys? Then let’s get on with the peep show.

Chill, before you get totally aroused and have premature ejaculation. Let’s have a little background why Rommel Ynion, Cong. Jerry Treñas and Councilor Plaridel Nava found themselves in this unlikely “ménage a trois” situation.

Here are some excerpts from the March 13 issue of Panay News:

If Councilor Plaridel Nava were to be believed, Cong. Jerry Treñas wanted him dead before the elections last year.

“According to Nava, he learned about the alleged plan to assassinate him from businessman Rommel Ynion in Metro Manila just last week, March 8.

“Treñas sought the help of suspected drug lord Melvin ‘Boyet’ Odicta Sr. to carry out the plan, said Nava.

“The councilor said Ynion heard Odicta and Treñas talking about it over the phone during a visit to the drug lord’s residence in Barangay Tanza Esperanza.

“From what Nava gathered from Ynion, a defeated candidate for city councilor in the 2016 polls, his death would then be blamed on Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog who was then at loggerheads with him.”

And that’s how the “Treñas, Nava Peep Show” started. I’m sure that foreplay got your attention aroused so to keep the sexy mood here’s more from Panay News:

“‘While they were talking,’ said Nava, ‘Odicta’s phone rang. An excessively boastful person, Odicta had to show off to Rommel that the one calling him was Congressman Treñas. Indeed, Rommel saw the name of Treñas appearing as the caller. To further prove that it was, indeed, Treñas calling, Odicta switched the speaker on then answered the call. So Rommel heard everything,’ said Nava.

“Treñas was supposedly asking about the progress of the slay plot but Nava said Odicta replied, ‘Alang-alang pa,congressman. Basi mabangdan si mayor.’

“Then Treñas allegedly replied, ‘Pigado e.’

“Realizing the sensitivity of the topic, Nava said Ynion told him that Odicta switched off the speaker of the phone, walked away while continuing to speak with Treñas.

“Odicta returned to Rommel. The drug lord eventually disclosed to him that Jerry Treñas wanted me dead. Odicta said not now because the mayor might be dragged in the case but the congressman was in a hurry,” Nava said further.”

So basically it was Rommel Ynion who started the whole drama. As to what his motives are, your guess is as good as mine. The allegations are quite serious and if they are indeed proven to be true then it changes the whole political landscape of “I Am Iloilo.”

From the look of things, Councilor Plaridel Nava is taking Rommel Ynion’s word. I suppose if it was your life that is the subject of elimination, it always pays to err on the side of caution.

It’s been quiet lately in “I Am Iloilo” and the restless natives are in the brink of boredom. Nothing like a “peep show” to titillate the political pundits in coffee shops./PN
