ROXAS City – For Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, the 72nd Foundation Anniversary of Roxas City, or Kaadlawan sang Roxas City, highlights the unity of people from the city and from the province of Capiz.

All 47 barangays in the city joined in the two-day celebration, which kicked off yesterday, May 12.

Republic Act No. 603 and Presidential Executive Order No. 488 declared May 12, 1951 as the date of the organization of the government of Roxas City.

“Ini selebrasyon sang pag updanay, inabyanay kag kabuganaan. We can achieve so much if we are of one mind, one direction and one aspiration. We achieve only the best if we genuinely seek the welfare of our every kasimanwa,” said Dadivas during the opening program of Kaadlawan sang Roxas City.

The city mayor also acknowledged the strong support of the provincial government of Capiz under the leadership of Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro, who also graced the celebration.

“Pareho sa ginhambal ni Gov. Fred Castro, we can only achieve so much if we work together. Wala sang Roxas City, kon wala ang probinsya sang Capiz. Wala sang probinsya sang Capiz, kon wala ang Roxas City,” Dadivas added.

The city mayor also thanked all the national government agencies, the media and other sectors that support Roxas City.

Dadivas said it is also a time of thanksgiving for all the blessings and achievements the city received and for where it is headed./PN
