NEGROS Occidental – Officers of the Kabankalan Component City Police Station in Negros Occidental arrested a wanted person for murder in the city’s Barangay Hilamonan.
The 42-year-old alias “Timoy”, a resident of the city’s Barangay Tan-awan, was caught around 10: 30 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, after hiding for almost a decade.
Police carried out the operation through the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Branch 61 of the Regional Trial Court – Sixth Judicial Region in Kabankalan City dated August 18, 2014.
The suspect was detained at the Kabankalan Component City Police Station pending turnover to the court concerned.
No bail bond was recommended for his temporary freedom.
“The arrest of this fugitive clearly signifies Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) firm commitment in pursuing the remaining wanted persons in the region. May this operation serve as a stern warning to the remaining wanted persons to surrender and face the charges against them because soonest the long arms of the law will still catch them,” said PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky./PN
