BACOLOD City – The city government of Kabankalan in Negros Occidental shortened curfew hours while the metro is under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
Mayor Pedro Zayco recently signed Executive Order (EO) No. 103 Series of 2020 imposing a modified curfew from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The move aims to further accommodate more businesses, help them survive the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and assist employees return to their work.
Zayco called on all the barangay officials as well as police authorities to strictly implement the new curfew hours.
The latest directive allowed mass gatherings but the number of participants was limited to 50 percent of the seating or venue capacity.
Provincial border control points were also maintained. The mandatory use of facemask, face shields, social distancing and other health protocols already implemented shall be strictly enforced.
As of Dec. 3, Kabankalan had a total of 484 COVID-19 cases, 64 of which are tagged active, 413 recovered, and seven died.
A check from Kabankalan City Health Office’s COVID-19 bulletin showed one new infection on Thursday, 15 new recoveries and no new fatalities.
To date, Barangay Talubangi has the most number of cases with 14, followed by Barangay Orong with nine and the villages of Binicuil and Hilamonan with eight cases each./PN
