THE massive success of the ABS-CBN’s afternoon drama “Kadenang Ginto” has gone international, spawning a remake on Indonesian television.
Dreamscape Television, the production unit behind “Kadenang Ginto,” announced on Tuesday that its Indonesian counterpart, titled “Putri Mahkota,” debuted on Jan. 5.
“Putri Mahkota,” which translates to “Crown Princess” in English, is said to be the first Philippine drama to be adapted by Indonesian television network ANTV.
“Kadenang Ginto,” which premiered in Oct. 2018, follows the tug of war over the Mondragon fortune, between Robert’s (Albert Martinez) daughter, Daniela (Dimples Romana), and his second wife, Romina (Beauty Gonzalez).
Their respective daughters, Marga (Andrea Brillantes) and Cassie (Francine Diaz), become bitter rivals, too, not only in school but at one point over the affection of one man.
After over a year on air, “Kadenang Ginto” has started counting down to its conclusion, with teasers taglined, “Ang Nalalapit Na Pagtatapos.” (Push)
