ILOILO – A barangay kagawad was arrested in a drug sting in Barangay Talokgangan, Banate town.
Rodolf Baldemor, 37, is a tokhang surrenderee. Police classified him as a high-value individual.
Police Lieutenant Dandy Ilalto, chief of the Banate Municipal Police Station (MPS), told Panay News that the suspect sold shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,600 around 10 a.m. on Friday, May 12.
“Since nag pungko ako diri last year, na-monitor ni naton siya nga nagbalik naman siya sa iya illegal drug activities kay na-tokhang ini siya sang 2017,” said Ilalto.
Six sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 13 grams and a standard drug price of P91,000 was recovered.
“Kun diin nagahalin ang supply niya is muna pa ang ginatutukan ta,” Ilalto added.
The operation was conducted by the combined forces of the Banate MPS, Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Special Operations Group and Iloilo 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Banate MPS. He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
