ILOILO City – For allegedly shooting a man, a barangay kagawad was arrested and detained in Dingle, Iloilo.
Barangay Moroboro councilman Joy Algoso allegedly had a hand in shooting resident Jeffrey Paniza at around 10:20 p.m. on Dec. 23, police said.
According to investigation, Paniza was having a drinking binge with his three friends when Algoso arrived.
The village official then pulled out his .45-caliber pistol and shot Paniza on the right arm, police added.
Paniza was rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan, Iloilo for treatment.
Algoso, on the other hand, surrendered to the police./PN
