ANTIQUE – Fire engulfed a house in Barangay Diclum, Tobias Fornier, Antique around 6:40 a.m. on Friday, May 5.
The house was owned by Kagawad Feb Stephem Grijaldo.
Grijaldo’s wife, Mae, was cooking when their gas stove suddenly burst into flames, according to Fire Officer 2 Carlos Montenegron, Jr. of the Tobias Fornier Municipal Fire Station.
Mae tried to extinguish the fire using sand but it reached the roof made of light materials.
The couple prioritized saving their children sleeping at the time.
A “fire out” was declared around 7:10 a.m., and the damage was more or less P80,000./PN
