Kalibo airport manager moves to Central Visayas

KALIBO, Aklan – The former Kalibo International Airport manager, Engineer Eusebio Monserate Jr., is now the acting Area VII manager by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Airports under CAAP Area VII are Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Bohol-Panglao International Airport, Dumaguete Airport, Siquijor Airport, and Ubay (Bohol) Airport – all in Central Visayas.

Monserate’s reassignment took effect on July 1.

“As a public servant I consider it a calling, to serve in a bigger, wider scope,” he said.

Since taking over the Kalibo airport before the coronavirus disease pandemic, Monserate built relationships with airport personnel, general aviation and stakeholders.

The airport had around 30 international flights pre-pandemic.

Currently, it is in operation 24 hours a day with regional flights from South Korea.

Monserate, who was assigned to the Kalibo airport in 2018, was replaced by Roxas City airport manager Engineer John William Fuerte./PN
