KALIBO, Aklan – A man caught in a drug entrapment operation in this capital town denied involvement in illegal drug trade.
He is the 49-year-old Ronald “Alog” Carion, resident of Novaliches, Quezon City.
Carion temporarily resides along Oyo Torong Street in Kalibo. He was arrested around 9:50 p.m. on Oct. 6.
According to the police, Carion was nabbed after he sold two sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves to an undercover officer for P1,000.
But Carion said, “Wala nakuha sa akin sa body search. Pinaupo nila ako sa tindahan at biglang may lumabas na illegal drugs.”
He added that the evidence was “planted” on him. He was only walking home from his older sister and brother-in-law’s lugawan where he works when police arrested him.
“Habang pauwi may nag–akbay na isang asset sa akin at dinakip ako malapit sa bahay namin,” Carion said.
Personnel from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Kalibo Drug Enforcement Team and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency staged the sting operation.
Carion was detained in the lockup facility of the municipal police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 220, will be filed against him. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
