KALIBO, Aklan – A 22-year-old man was arrested in a drug sting operation in Barangay Estancia.
Seven sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from Andre Mabasa, police said.
Mabasa – resident of this capital town – was nabbed after he allegedly sold illegal drugs to an undercover officer for P10,000 around 7:30 p.m. on June 27.
When frisked, Mabasa yielded one more sachet of suspected shabu, a cellphone and drug paraphernalia.
Antidrug authorities also impounded his motorcycle.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered in Oplan Tokhang campaign last 2017 but he still continued with his shabu-peddling activities, according to police investigators.
Mabasa was brought to a police crime laboratory in Iloilo City for further examination.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
