Kalibo gets new acting police chief

KALIBO, Aklan – Police Major Jasson Belcina is the acting police chief here. He assumed his post on Sept. 9.

His predecessor, Police Lieutenant Colonel Belshazzar Villanoche, has been given a full-time assignment at the Aklan Police Provincial Office’s (APPO) Plans and Program Division.  

Belcina had served the Aklan municipal police stations of Malay, Altavas and Makato and the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company.

He also served as deputy in the APPO Plans and Program Division.

Villanoche thanked the men and women of the Kalibo municipal police station and the stakeholders for their support during his stint since February 2020.

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on April 2021.

Meanwhile, Aklan police director Colonel Ramir Perlito Perlas said the police would continue its service despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Perlas added he would recommend three to five eligible police officers to Kalibo mayor Emerson Lachica from whom one could be assigned as a full-fledged town chief of police.
